It is so disappointing when I find a very cute home on the MLS, but you can’t really appreciate the true charm because of the shadows cast by trees on a sunny day. You can and should use a flash on these days to rid the photos of shadows, but that won’t really help with big structures like this:
I’m not a professional photographer, but I’m going to upload the picture on the free photo software site Picnik.com to see if I can improve it.
On this first photo, I adjusted the exposure and then experimented with putting shadows all around the picture to make the house shadows fit in. I wouldn’t use this picture but in some ways it is an improvement.
Next, is a simple adjustment of the exposure on the photo resulting in a picture that does reveal more of the house.
This photo I sharpened both the colors and the texture of the picture. I’m impressing even myself.
But wait… it gets better! I just love an artsy-type picture! First I used the same exposur and the sharpened image. Then I did a color focal-point emphasizing the color of the Fall trees. This would be my pick for a photo because it would get noticed by potential buyers!
With the colors of Autumn so beautiful at this time of year in many parts of the country, grab your camera, go out and take some pictures, and have a great weekend!
