I’m changing things up a little this Friday. Instead of looking at good or bad MLS photos, I searched my own MLS to find what could be revealed about homes in the reflections. Let’s go!
Starting with this photo, I really like how the mirror reflects on the wall and then its reflection is caught back in the mirror. The floor is so immaculate that it also reflects the furniture from where the sun is shining through the windows. (I’d still suggest to use some window treatments, but the rest of the room is gorgeous.)
Sometimes it’s just better to step outside to take a picture. The picture was taken from inside the sliding door?! Come on already! Open the door – just a little "crack" is needed to get the nose of the camera lens outside so you don’t see this hot mess.
This photo is just magnificent, even without the lights on in the room. The reflection of the couch and plant in the TV actually add to the character of the room rather than distracting a potential buyer.
Speaking of distractions, I was looking at both the blinding flash reflected in the window and the orbs (aka dust on the lens) floating around the room when I noticed someone. Is that David Hasselhoff?
This photo was pretty good until I noticed the stuff hanging in the shower, shampoo, etc. I think I would’ve closed the shower door for this one. And maybe the closet door, as well.
Hi guy (or gal). I see you in the mirror. Are those paper towels hanging on the towel rack? The idea is daringly brilliant. Heh.
Should I criticize the photographer for not getting out of the car to take the photo since it’s raining? YES! For crying out loud, you could at least park the car in a position other than straight-on so when you do take the photo your mirror isn’t visible… circle the block if you have to!
Finally, this has nothing to do with reflections, but I just don’t get the whole two pedestal sink thing. I’ve seen several homes now that offer two sinks – pedestals. Why not put in a vanity so at least you can have storage if you’re going to that much trouble?
Here’s hoping your Labor Day is safe, happy, and restful!

Kathy, I love that first photo! Just out of curiosity, is that home currently on the market? I'd love to see more pictures.

Hi Stephanie, I emailed you a link to the house. Every other photo is gorgeous, too. It had me drooling when I saw it. Very very nice.
