Millions of people have already received their economic stimulus package, but there are some of us who haven’t because we OWED taxes this year instead of getting a refund. Seems like the people who owed would need the rebate a lot worse than those who got money back, but we have to wait until June’ish.
I was disheartened to learn that we don’t get $300 for our 17-year old because she’s 17 years old. Children in a household have to be under 17 for the children’s portion, even though she’s costing a lot more than our 12-year old right now thanks to senior pictures, ACT tests, etc.
In any case, I’ve been pondering what to do with my rebate when it comes. In reality, we’ll probably be using it to buy groceries or gas because – like nearly all other Americans – the cost of living these days is crushing our family budget.
But if I didn’t have to feed those whacky children of mine and drive clients, I’d consider adding vinyl soffits over my wood. Plus our plumbing under the kitchen sink is having trouble… we have a drip. I’d rather call a licensed plumber to take care of it than trying to fix it myself. Our plumber wouldn’t have as far to travel as the one needed at the space station. I’d like new flooring – I want to ditch my old carpet and throw on some hardwood, but I know $1500 may only do one room.
I’ve found an awesome site called Invention Lab that may show me exactly how I can do things myself.
I leave you today with on Frightful Friday photo in which binoculars are needed to see the home. It doesn’t look like there’s a thing wrong with this pretty home… but I’m not sure because I can’t see it!
Have a happy weekend!
