I’ve felt like I’m drowning all day today. I keep hearing about gas prices expected to hit $4 p/gallon this summer and it makes me want to … I don’t know. Cry I guess. But worse than gas prices, I am a Girl Scout leader who is stuck with about 6 or 8 cases of unsold cookies that we have to pay for whether they’re sold or not. That’s hundreds of dollars that my troop has to pay for out of our own pockets.
Something as popular as Girl Scout cookies should sell quickly and with little effort, right? They sell themselves! But when people have to make a choice between splurging on a box of Thin Mints or putting a gallon of gas in their car so they can get to work to pay their mortgage, guess who loses?
Money is getting tight out their, folks. Girl Scout economics says so.
We’ll return tomorrow with our regularly schedule real estate programming.

You have a DARLING blog. I'm a designer myself, and I just love it – too cute.
This may be a dumb question, but can you sell the extra cookies on ebay or something? They might get snapped up!

Thank you for your kind comment, Krissy! Your cookie question is not at all dumb. It would be soooo tempting to put them on eBay, but it's again the Girl Scout rules. If we got caught, my daughter would lose her membership, I'd lose mine, and our troop would be disbanded. Well, I don't know if that's all true but I don't want to break rules when I'm supposed to set a good example!

Supermarkets are good places. You'll probably sell them in a few hours at Big Y or Stop and Shop. Good luck!
