Realtors wear so many hats. We counsel about jobs, marriage, children. We are decorators and carpenters. We babysit, hold hands, shoulder tears, and water plants. We go to court with our clients for moral support. Once I even caught someone’s dog when it escaped and she had to go to work.
We are experts in conflict resolution.
We do resolve conflicts of course but the more difficult part of that is having to "take it on the chin" when a Vendor, fellow Realtor, contractor, neighbour etc. gets really pissed off at something.
We are consultants.
A Realtor brings to the table his knowledge and experience of the sales and transactions in the local and surrounding neighborhoods.
We are chauffers.
I am the person guiding you through this process. I play so many roles through this relationship, at times I don’t know if I am a Realtor, psychologist, financial adviser, friend, chauffeur, or marriage counselor.
Is there anything we don’t do? We are not lawyers, tax accountants, inspectors, or flood zone experts. We do not survey land or lots. We are not heat/air repairmen or roofers. So when you have to sign that liability release form saying you don’t depend on us for tax and legal advice, survey advice, etc., just remember the roles we do play! And remember, any Realtor with good work ethics and morals is worth their weight in gold for clients.
