    Touring Homes in Heat

Dscn8553 Searching for a home can be stressful enough without doing it in severe heat.  I ventured out today to check on the progress of a new construction and nearly had my breath taken away when I stepped out of my nice, air conditioned car.  Fortunately, no client was with me (just me and my camera!).  If I had people riding along, these are some of the things I might have packed for a day of home tours:

    1.  Cooler with bottles of water iced down.  When you get too hot and toss down sugar drinks (sodas, koolaid), your body can’t absorb the hydration over the sugar.

    2.  Little paper or battery-operated fans.

    3.  Snacks like pears, apples, or anything with natural water.

    4.  Wet wipes in the cooler in case anyone gets overheated - lay the wipes around your neck to cool off.

    5.  If you’re going to be in the sun, bring sun screen!  Make an effort to stand in the shade whenever possible.

    Good luck!
